Wednesday July 15th and Thursday 16th July
The food for these evenings will centre on the south of
France and we plan to conjure up flavours and dishes
associated with the area.
Again, the set menu will consist of numerous courses and
will hopefully have a seasonal balmy summer feel –
hopefully to match the good weather we have been
having recently in Broseley !
I have always admired the cookery books and essays of
Elizabeth David; and was lucky enough to help cook for
her, on numerous occasions, at a restaurant in London
[ in my younger days..! ] . She was equivalent to a
‘Delia or a Jamie ‘ and helped bring a new lease of life
to cookery and ingredients after the post war years.
Her references to Provence are still enlightening, witty
and an engaging read and I hope to replicate some of
this great authentic food, here at Clays ,over two nights.
Also plan to do a Provencal winter’s evening later in the year. David
