With the Christmas festivities in full swing here is a reminder of when we are open and closed over the next few weeks.

It is still possible to book and please note we will be offering the set festive menu on Boxing Day.

We still have some spaces for New Years Eve where we will be offering a set menu at
a reasonable £35 per person . Details below

New Year’s Eve Supper 2015

On arrival – Bellini glass of Prosecco with white peach nectar


Bella di Cerignola Olives – Bowl of Trudy’s bread – Cornish Mackeral tartare – Gougere

To start –

Festive spiced beef with potato and chive salad, horseradish and croutes

Pissaladiere – a flat ‘open puff pastry tart with onion confit, Serrats anchovies with aubergine and tapenade

West coast scallops with curried cauliflower puree; caper, raisin and pomegranate dressing

Baked goats cheese souffle with salad of sticky beets, toasted seeds; Pear and walnut vinaigrette

Cream of celeriac soup with herb oil and chestnuts

For Main course –

Local dry aged sirloin ,cooked to your liking ; braised whole onion with beef shin

Glazed carrots with thyme; mash with beer mustard

Baked paupiette of guinea fowl with herbs and mushroom duxelle

Wild mushroom -Madeira cream sauce little steamed potatoes with chives

Cornish brill with braised fennel and beurre blanc ; lightly pickled vegetables with prawn and saffron potatoes

Risotto of celery,walnuts, black winter truffle and grapes; organic Cotswold ‘Brie’

For Pudding

Meringue with plum compote ; lemon curd ice cream

Enagadiner tart with caramel and walnut

Bread and butter pudding with rum soaked sultanas; custard

Iced chocolate bombe with stem ginger,fig and pistachio cassata

A plate of local Shropshire cheese with fruit, biscuits and toast

£35 per person

A note on bookings
We have had a ‘spate’ of bookings which have cancelled at the last moment or have turned up with one or two people less in their group.

The majority of people let us know in good time which gives us the opportunity to adjust our table plans accordingly.

We only have a maximum of ten tables and we are losing up to 10 ‘no-shows ‘ a week which can soon add up in lost revenue.

We would appreciate if you could ring the restaurant as soon as possible if you know of any changes.

We don’t intend to ask for deposits for now.
