Events for December

We have just released our evening menu for the Christmas season which is below.

It may be a little late in the month but we are always busy, busy, busy! We are open as usual for evenings [ Wednesday to Saturday ]

At lunchtimes [ Wednesday to Saturday ] we will run a shorter menu which will incorporate some of the evening dishes but will still have a festive feel.You can still pick and choose what you fancy during daytime to suit your budget.

The set two or three course menu only applies in the evening.

The Festive evening menu will commence on Wednesday 2nd December.

The one exception for early December is Saturday 5th when Broseley celebrates the Christmas Lights Switch On. For this popular night only we will be offering just a simple set menu to tie in with this event.

Three course for £20 per person

There will be two sittings. One from around 5-00pm until 5-30pm;
the second from 7-30pm onwards.

We will be open Christmas Eve but closed Christmas Day.

December Festive Evening Menu 2015

to start – a bowl of Trudy’s lovely bread

Peperonata salad with Bella di Cerignola olives

Christmas spiced beef with potato salad ,horseradish and croutes

Leek and Mr Moyden’s Newport cheese croquette with Speck ham

Pissaladière- flat ‘open’ puff pastry tart with onion ‘confit’, Serrate anchovies and black olives; winter leaves

Sopa de Castañas- chestnut and Torreon chorizo soup

Celeriac remoularde with oak smoked chicken

Cornish mackerel tartare with pickled mooli and avocado puree

Pheasant supreme marinated with preserved lemon, yoghurt and spices; baked and served with pomegranate and baby spinach salad; roast sweet potatoes ;quince and pistachio dukkah

Mortimer forest venison-roast haunch steak rubbed with garlic,juniper and thyme; with cranberries and red wine; mashed neeps and creamed Brussel sprouts; roast ‘duck fat ‘potatoes

Sea Trout topped with brill and mushroom ‘duxelle’ mousseline; sauce Nantaise; chive mash

Great Berwick Long Horn beef meatballs in a Puglian red wine-tomato sauce; pesto courgettes with strascinati pasta

Risotto of celery,walnuts,wild mushrooms and grapes with truffled Brie

Lamb steak with roast butternut squash, Pecorino and pine nuts

Sticky toffee pudding, served with vanilla ice cream

Noel tart – almond frangipane with apple and mincemeat

St Clement’s pudding – a lemon surprise pud with lemon curd ice cream

Florentine of cranberry, pecan and white chocolate; Grand Marnier and orange parfait

Chocolate roularde with chestnuts; mocha sauce

A plate of local cheese £3-00 supp

The Dutch Mistress- an artisan locally made cheese from Brockhall farm – succulent, full flavoured
rind washed cheese ; and Pablo Cabrito – a fresh, smooth and close textured, cheese with a citrus complexity; mellow
and piquant
Mr Moyden’s Ironbridge Blue and Wrekin White served with quince, grapes, biscuits and Trudy’s toasted bread

Minimum two course £22-50 per person

Three course £27 per person
