A smooth emerald green soup with potato. Served with lemon cream and nutmeg; croutons £6-50

Chicken liver parfait

A smooth pate topped with a Pedro Ximenez jelly ' Legacy of Australia ' ; apricot and seed toast £7-50

A salad Nicoise with Cornish mackerel

Seared fillet topped with gremolata and with all the flavours of this classic dish – black olive tapenade, green beans

aiolli, roast peppers, tomato, soft boiled egg , croute £8-00

Crostinis with Fourme d'ambert

Creamed mushroom duxelle and onion confit – on olive oil drizzled croutes and topped with a creamy salty French blue £7-50

Queen Anne's artichoke tart

A crisp puff pastry tart with artichoke puree and marinated globe artichoke slices ; topped with salad leaves-herb vinaigrette £8-00

Shetland scallops

Pan fried gently with curried cauliflower puree and pomegranate-golden raisin dressing; deep fried red onion £13-50

Shetland hake

Baked fillet with salsa verde – a green herby sauce with mustard, spring wild garlic,basil,parley, anchovy and olive oil

Served on braised Puy lentils with purple sprouting broccoli £18-00

Lamb and hummus

Marinated local lamb 'cushion' leg steak, seared and served on hummus with roasted peppers, courgettes ,cumin sweet potato and rosemary jelly ; date couscous, fig crema and barrel aged feta £19-00

Goosenargh chicken

the breast marinated with herbs and lemon ; roasted

served with Torreon chorizo and and little roasted paprika potatoes; green beans; tomato -basil sauce £18-00

Potato gnocchi

with Wye Valley asparagus, Norfolk samphire, creamed pesto and Grana Padano £ 15-00

Miso caramelised aubergine

with tahini mayonaisse, pistachio dukkah, kohlrabi ; and moghrabieh with saffron and olive oil £15-00

Many components and elements of our our dishes are cooked to order; at times when we are busier, main courses may seem to take a little longer – possibly if you wish to skip a starter ! Please let us know of any allergies and intolerance; we can always adapt where possible and, likewise , we are happy to cook plain and simpler dishes .
