Crostinis – olive oil drizzled croutes with creamed mushroom duxelle topped with Sparkenhoe Blue Shropshire & onion confit £6
Dong Po Pork -5 hour steamed belly pork with ginger, soy and star anise; finished in a reduced sticky glaze with toasted sesame, ruby grapefruit, pak choi and spring onion salad £7
In the main
Roast haunch of venison ,marinated with thyme, juniper and black treacle served with a classic poivrade game sauce with mulled red wine pear. Roast potatoes, celeriac puree and Brussel sprouts with smoked bacon £16 hot
Jerusalem artichoke and chick pea chaat – slow roasted artichokes ‘mashed ‘ down with chick peas and sautéed with ginger, a little chilli and chaat masala. Topped with two chutneys – mint & coriander and tamarind & date.Drizzled with yoghurt and sev [ crisp chick pea noodles ] £12 hot
Baked cod, salmon and wild sea bass in a prawn-chive white wine cream sauceServed with a box of greens and little boiled potatoes with parsley oil and dill £15 hot
Black currant Delice – a gorgeous classic layered mousse cake with genoise sponge , black currant mousse with Italian meringue and topped with a Cassis glaze £5
Christmas Creme Brulee – with vanilla, orange and Cointreau topped with a caramelised sugar crust and gold leaf flakes £6

Sparkenhoe Shropshire Blue -Hand made with raw milk [ actually made in Leicestershire ] Annatto is added to the milk [ hence the colour] The taste is buttery and mellow with a gentle spice to finish.
Sharpham Rustic with chives and garlic – made on the Sharpham estate over the river Dart in Devon. The Jersey cows have a taste for the the wild garlic where they graze. A rich semi-hard cheese with a delicious ‘oniony’ tang .
Smoked Northumberland – made at Seaton Burn in Northumberland, not for from Brinkburn Priory.This was formerly a medieval monastery. The French monks who lived there passed on their expertise in cheesemaking to the local farmers – this cheese is still made in the old French ‘Tomme’ style. Smoked over oak chips [2 days] . This cheese has a smooth and creamy smokiness .
