Sunday Lunch October 20th    2019       What’s on the menu today

Two ways with aubergine – Babaganoush with Shropshire quinoa , spring onion and date; warm marinated aubergines with pomegranate molasses and pine kernals

Soupe de poissons – authentic smooth rusty hued ‘bisque’ style Provencale fish soup served with poached cod, aiolli, croutes and Parmesan

Crostinis – olive oil drizzled croutes of mushroom duxelle topped with Per Las – a blue Welsh cheese and onion marmalade

Pigeon bruschetta – slices of seared wood pigeon with chicken liver parfait and Serrano ham; Cumberland sauce and blackberries

Kedgeree ‘Scotch egg ‘ -curried smoked haddock with basmati rice and egg; mango chutney

Main Course

Roasted local dry aged beef sirloin

Yorkshire pudding and red wine shallot sauce. Roasted potatoes and swede & carrot mash , Savoy cabbage and caramelised red onion £3 supplement

Roast Goosnargh chicken breast with smoked bacon and parsley stuffing; apple sauce

Sherry vinegar sauce; roast potatoes, swede and carrot mash; roasted pumpkin with maple syrup and toasted seeds

Brixham plaice – baked fillets served with a tomato and pesto sauce; braised fennel

Broccoli and chive mash

Rosti potato topped with mature Keen’s Cheddar cheese, onion confit and thyme;

Creamed leeks with peas ; sauteed girolle wild mushrooms

Something sweet

Bread and butter pudding with rum soaked sultanas and custard

Caramelised upside down apple cake with stem ginger; Bramley apple sorbet

Sticky spiced carrot and figgy pudding with Jack Daniels and pouring cream

Semi Freddo with vanilla and chocolate; poached pear

A plate of artisan British cheese with fruit and biscuits

Two courses £21 per person Three courses £26 per person

And likewise, for those with a smaller appetite or wish to have something plain – please don’t hesitate to ask !

We have pots of our beef dripping; great for your Sunday roasties – they are FOC !
